Elk salt licks

To my knowledge Utah made baiting big game illegal a number of years ago. Must have an exception for salt licks since you're asking about it.

Utah banned baiting with "food or nutrient substances" a couple years ago.

You're right. I looked it up and they banned it in 2021. So much for the summer plans to put out a salt lick lol

You can use salt during the trail cam season. Until July 31st.

For what it's worth, most the big trail cam guys I know just use rock salt.

Yes and no. You can't hunt over it or where it was placed but you can put it out before or after the season. Dates are something like jan-july if I recall

Is colorado and surrounding states the same way? Or just Utah?

Just go ask the cowboys where they put out salt blocks for their cattle on NF lands. They’ll tell ya.

Completely legal
