Rocky Mountain Scrimshaw in CO does outstanding work. Husband and wife business that's been around forever. I've had a number of jewelry pieces made by them and all are excellent. Great pricing, too.
Peggy Houchin in Loveland, CO. I had an ivory made into a pendant for my wife. Peggy does some high end stuff but her ivory work was very reasonable. Extremely nice person to work with and they are very involved with hunting and shooting!
I just made my daughters and wife a teardrop pendant elk ivory necklace. All materials sourced online on Etsy. It was a fun project and I’m excited for Christmas to give it to them.
Let me know if you want details of how I did mine. I’m happy with how they turned out - especially with the price of under 100 l dollars for 4 necklaces.
I used to live near a woman named Susan Amador in Fort Collins, Colorado. I spoke to her about making some ivory jewelry but never followed through. I believe she has a website.
I had my set of ivories made into earrings for my wife. Took them to Sylvan's Jewelers here in downtown Columbia, SC and they sent them to their custom jeweler in Greensboro, NC. Excellent work and the wife was happy. They still talk about them and their uniqueness when I go in there. Granted, not a whole lot of elk ivories to deal with locally. I'll post a picture if I can find one.
