The 150grain was from a hunt listing I saw in a Texas listing, not OPs hunt. Sorry for the confusion!OK the state says a 270 is minimum. Where is the 150 gr bullet stated? Personally I like the heavier for caliber on the bigger game, but that's me.
I'd just pick up a decent rifle in 308. You can buy ammo up or down in weight. Pretty universal. Or sell it after the hunt.
.270 and largerDrew a once in a lifetime Oklahoma elk tag.
24 years of points.
They have a restriction on 270 and larger.
I own 223,6.5 and putting together a 6cm now.
So I need to buy a new tikka just for some practice and this one hunt.
I have no plans to keep it so I want a combo with 500 yard capabilities with the lowest recoil possible.
I don’t reload so would be using factory ammo.
What combo of caliber, barrel length etc will be the easiest to get rid of?
I thought about buying a 308 and just keeping it but not sure I will ever use it with my 223 and 6cm.
Kinda thought the same thing when he’s getting caliber restrictions in his confirmation email after burning 24 years worth of points.WTF kinda hunt is this?![]()

You are informed of the caliber restriction during the application process. It’s not a surprise unless you click to agree and acknowledge hunt regulations without actually reading them.Kinda thought the same thing when he’s getting caliber restrictions in his confirmation email after burning 24 years worth of points.
