Shot distances? Did they drop or run?168 gr ELD-M 308 running about 2650 on a 20” barrel. First hand load on a live animal and I gotta say I’m pretty impressed. Through the front left shoulder of the axis and lodged under the skin past the ribs. Last two pictures are a red sheep same round entrance and exit hole.
Probably 60 yards. Ran about 10 with his front leg tucked then fell over.Shot distances? Did they drop or run?
Thinking of trying the 162 eldm in my 7-08
I would shoot the 108s if you have the twist for it. Personally wouldn't use a 6mm for much bigger than deer but people are doing it. Your choice, but more isn't going to hurt for stuff like elkWould the 90 eldx be a good choice for a 243 for bigger game than deer? People seem to give similar reports with the eldx as the eldm in larger calibers.
I'll have a better answer by next season as my .243 will be my cow rifle specifically because I'm curious myself, but so far the 90s have been devastating on every deer and antelope I've put them through.Would the 90 eldx be a good choice for a 243 for bigger game than deer?
