Ecodiesel recall

Are the Ecodiesel having more issues than the gas engines?

Yes. To summarize. They made everyone put "catalytic converters" and "O2 sensors" on new diesel engines like they did the gas engines in the 80's. On diesels they are called DPF "diesel particulate filter" and NOX sensors. Remember in the 80's how you would have a 350 making 127 horsepower because the engine was so restricted. Same thing for diesel engines. They will make them durable again but right now they are having many problems with the emissions giving the trucks durability and driveability problems. This isn't just a dodge problem. The fix for the diesel engines was deleting DPF and reprograming the computer. Now they have started to make inspection stations in the states look for deleted emissions gear and run computer checks to verify the emissions haven't been disabled or bypassed.

I've stuck with the duramax for my personal truck and had limited problems with my 17' LML wit 60k miles, my 13' LMM (now a work truck) is starting to have a number of problems including eating NOX sensors every 25k miles. It has 175k on it. My guys 6.0 and 6.4 fords.....well they are all at the scrap yard now and replaced with duramaxes. I hear the 6.7 is a much better engine for ford i just can't get back behind ford after taking a hosing on 3-6.0 and 2-6.4 trucks.. I only ran a couple dodges around 14' and we already sent those down the road for other reasons.
