Anyone ever utilized an Eberlestock Spike Duffle as a Kifaru Pack insert? Just tried it tonight and man it keeps the shape better and now I gotta a duffle to keep my camp gear that I wont need when Im out hunting.

Digging this. =-)

If your packing light enough it doesnt matter really. Your right it is extra weight. But having a place to keep my stuff while out hunting and not at camp kind of makes it worth taking for me anyway. The Spike Duffle doesnt weigh much at all. I am showing the weight as 0.75 lbs.

yeah, i agree, i cant see .75lbs making any difference at all. good idea.

Honestly, I wouldnt use the spike camp. Over the years I seem to learn everything the hard way. All your systems need to be in waterproof dry bags. I carry three sea to summit or any brand sil nylon dry bag one for my sleep system, one for clothing and one for food. That way in case of that rare thunder storm or rain storm you critical gear always stays dry. Believe me that spike camp duffle may be water resistant but it ain't waterproof. Water will get in thought the seams or zipper, And that will ruin a trip every single time
