Not sure what's up with it but happened to me as well. Had an account for 10 or 15 years now but don't use it much. Bought/sold less than 50 or 60 things over the years. I sold a scope here awhile back and they held my funds.

Same here. Haven’t used my account to sell much in the last few years. $$$ cleared eventually. They do some weird shit now and their fees are pretty insane.

on the one hand, I am glad to see them doing more to protect buyers. On the other hand, it is a pain in the ass.

That’s weird, I’ve had them pay prior to shipping the item lately. eBay really sucks these days (fees, inconsistency , new rules etc) I don’t use them any more than I have to.

i have not used them much in the last few years either, high fees plus the the tax rule on selling your old stuff.last couple purchases i made the descriptions were not clear, i b@@tched ,nothing happened.

I only use eBay once I’ve determined it isn’t selling elsewhere. The fees suck but they’ve always held my funds until the tracking shows delivery. I think it is related to the amount of business you do with them.

How does Ebay hold the funds? Don't people pay with PP on Ebay? Ebay shouldn't have anything to do with the funds.

eBay’s taken over the payment aspect of it, I don’t know if you can use PayPal anymore or not. They have their own system in place to get the 3% or whatever it is.

I wasn’t sure if they had totally shut it down or not, everything they’ve been doing for the last several months seems to be geared to pushing people to use their payment service.

I haven’t used eBay I’m a really long time but did have PayPal hold my funds for 22 days on a spotting scope i sold. Of course they said if i provide a tracking number they’d release the funds but they didn’t. First time I’ve ever had that happen
