Earth curves up.

How many people have seen this. Not sure what it's called or what causes it. Happens 3 or 4 times a year. Things that are 10-20 miles away that you can't see are in full view and it looks like the earth curves upward. This picture for example. What looks like a big flat mesa out there isn't at all. It's actually lower than the road. On a normal day you can't see it. Grain elevators in all the small towns around look like they are a mile tall when you can't see them on any other day.

Atmospheric refraction as Denver country boy said in post number nine. It doesn’t just happen in flat country. I live about five or 6 miles out on a flat valley floor, East of the Sierra. Some days they are definitely sticking up in the air further than other days.

I don’t actually understand it well, but it seems to me it’s more noticeable on cold clear days. The mountains look noticeably taller.

I think what OP is saying is that the earth IS round, but we're on the inside
