x1000, that will ruin small engines, especially if you let it age!

I have an e85 capable Jeep, been about a dollar a gallon less, I get in once in a while when I drive by the place that sells it, pretty limited here, no noticeable difference in performance, fuel economy drops but at about 80 cents a gallon cheaper to start to see savings.

Like you guys already said, don't use in 2-strokes and older small engines and older 4-stroke outboards. I also don't think you're supposed to use in vehicles older than 2000 due to fuel pump and fuel line corrosion risk.

That being said, coming from Iowa I appreciate folks who use biofuels and the rules limiting their use during the summer should be permanently removed. Ethanol and biodiesel are huge industries in Iowa that provide thousands of good paying jobs for rural folks. We have a plant just down the road that employs around 60 people from our local town of 1,000. Also, expanding domestic production of fuel from renewable resources along with increasing domestic oil production is a good strategy for reducing dependence on foreign sources.

"Hey, let's increase the demand of corn while the price of everything else that depends on corn skyrockets as well" ... Pedo Joe
I would rather increase demand for corn that is grown domestically as a long term hedge to the voliatility of foreign oil markets. You're going to pay more for everything in the short term, and we gotta focus on the long game or we'll be right back where we are now the next time there is a war in the middle east or elsewhere that adds risk to oil imports.

My point was it didn't have to get to this point where this was even an issue in the first place. We had a president who's policies resulted in energy independence, a booming economy & a world that respected/ feared the US which in turn resulted in relatively speaking, global stability. Stolen elections have consequences. Y'all have a great day!

Or and hear me out here, we could tap our large reserves of oil. The corn industry makes so much wasted corn that they have to use gasoline to turn it into ethanol. Maybe those hard working Iowan could grow something else

So let’s use more corn when corn prices are up about 100% in a year. Also the irony of the Biden administration squashing fossil fuels to reduce carbon emissions and the e85 has higher carbon emissions.

This is the most F’d up administration in history.

I could care less about carbon emissions. My point is why wouldn't we want to use USA made ethanol and biodiesel and USA drilled oil vs. buying from commies and dictators around the world?

Less mileage, more fill ups, bUt ItS cHeApEr! Our gubmint is run by slack jawed booger eaters.

I steer far away from E15 crap. I try to buy ethanol free 87 from the co-op when possible. High octane ethanol free for ALL small engines.
This is true for E-85 and that's why I don't own any flex fuel vehicles. E-85 is a farce.

For E-15 and E-10 I don't notice any mileage difference in my vehicles vs. straight 87. It's also about $.40 cheaper than straight 87.

You gotta start somewhere, and most of us are buying gas every week if not more often.

The more this country can start moving our supply chain in-house the less vulnerable we are to the current set of circumstances. I highly recommend you listen to or read the book "One Second After". The author does an excellent job of pointing out how the uber complexity of our supply chain in the name of efficiency has left us open to a host of threats. Hell man, think back to summer 2020 when we couldn't even get TP.

gotta start somewhere......

spin away.
I'm not sure what "spin" you're talking about. People can make conscious choices about where they buy some things from. You either invest the time to buy things made in the USA (or at least not our enemies) or you don't. If you don't, then you don't get to bitch about it.

I needed a 100' tape measure. I looked for one on Amazon and couldnt find one not made in China. I googled it and found one made in the USA. It was a few dollars more expensive, but I was willing to spend the extra as my own small step to not propping up China. If the 360M some odd people in this country could make small changes like this in their buying habits it would have a big impact.
