Hello Roksliders,
For all of you getting ready to hit the hills in pursuit of elk, onX Ambassador Randy Newberg is back with another video series walking through how to use onX Hunt to scout out your area before you're even able to set foot on the trail. Rather than repeating the same stuff from last year, this year Randy takes a passenger seat as cameraman Michael Parente develops his E-Scouting plan for his first Wyoming elk tag. Follow along as Randy provides feedback and some additional tips on what to consider when e-scouting and don't forget to tune in this fall to see how Michael's plan unfolds.

The full series can be found at the link below.
Hands-On E-Scouting using onX

Honestly I could’ve used a lot more Randy in the videos. I feel like they weren’t using his knowledge base. Michael is a nice guy but is not so experienced. Thanks though.

Have been watching Randy Newbergs videos about e scouting. My son and I are first time elk hunters and we found a spot from the info that he and others puts out. We weren’t at our camp more than 10 minutes and heard a bull bugle on the next ridge. So stoked! Just before dark I blew my bugle and got two responses from that ridge. This morning when I woke up I bugled and got three responses. Hunting a tough spot. No trails with an 850 foot drop and the bulls appear to be at about the same elevation we are at camp. The side of the mountain has ferns between 4-6 feet tall. It took us an hour and twenty minutes to get to the bottom when we scouted it today. According to my onX maps we only went .6 miles at an average speed of 1/2 mile and hour. I think we may have won the world record of slowest decent. Hopefully it’s worth it.
