I get why guys use the hotmelt....it gives you options you don't have with a permanent insert. And if you are using very expensive components, it's nice to save and reuse.

I agree with MM....different strokes. These carbon shafts are pretty darn durable no matter which way you assemble them. Lately I have been using the cheap $36/dozen carbons off Amazon and as long as they are a decent gpi, above 9, they are pretty durable.

I'm just passing the epoxy info along in a "Durable arrow" tips thread.

I can back what 5 Miles said, I've seen Axis mushroom but it's usually due to hotmelt or other glue failure to hold the insert solidly in place.

Ya I've kinda thought the hot melt was cool but I'm rethinking that now I can certainly see that making a weaker front end.

On a different note I did order some arrows!
I got the Sonic KE from Nock On.. I can't find them on Easton's website so I wonder if they are a Nock on specialty, these are 6mm factory fletched shafts with Aae stealth hybrid vanes and are a select grade (.0015) for straightness. They are $228 cut, brass inserts installed, and shipped out the door, which seems to be a pretty stellar price! I figured this way I don't have to go home and message my wallet if I do mushroom one or me or a buddy lose one somewhere🤔 only downside is I don't think I can match the fletching with my jig if I mess the fetching up on one. Anyways they get here tomorrow so we will see!
