Duplex back pain

The only thing I can think of are the two buckles that are positioned behind the shoulder harness connecting the load lifters to the frame and straps. If suspension is cranked down for a shorter torso they can really come into play as those buckles are situated right between your shoulder blades.

This actually happened on the DT1 that was delivered from the factory and was improperly sized Once I adjusted the suspension to fit my longer torso they were high enough up that they were out of the way. If you think this may be it, and if you hadn't called Joe (who will undoubtedly be able to help with this) I will be glad to take pics of the buckles to show you what I am talking about.
I have not called Joe yet, stupid work keeps getting in the way. Ya pics would be great.

How do you determine what length your torso is?

If you are looking at the duplex from the front my buckles are just behind the white stitching you see on the top part of the shoulder strap:

So like others have said, if you crank down on the load lifters and those buckles are situated lower due to a smaller torso, I could see where one might feel those buckles pressing right below and in between the shoulder blades...at least it did for me until I got the suspension adjusted.

I dont see how that could cause cramping though, more like direct pain than cramping. Another thing, this is pressure I could feel it immediately as well, I didn't have to hike to know that something wasn't right. I was on the phone with Aron same day as I got my pack and he got me lined out.

It took me a while to dial in my DT1 and I still play around with it. My problem was with torso length like someone else had said. Fits good now and I may shorten it up a tad bit more. Look at all of the videos they have on the site. You might see what is gonna fix your fit. Bob.

I see what buckles you're about now though the cramping is a little lower on my back

Live2hunt, how much time have you spent with moderate loads in your back lately? I know that when I ramp up my training again and start training regularly with 50+ pounds I get sore shoulders and back for a week or two. Could it be possible that your just not used to carrying the amount of weight you currently are?

I pack with 30+ fairly regular but its with a kelty kid carrier not my duplex

I start my training at 70# and never get back pain. I would say it's either your back or your pack is way out of adjustment.
