Man down (especially goose down) is expensive. Most the places I've found a guy would spend as much on down for something like a 15 degree quilt as you would just to buy the quilt already made. Anybody have any good sources for some more economical down?

Did you try looking at the MYOG section of the Backpacking Light forum?

Those folks seem to have stuff like this dialed. Backpackers are way more frugal than hunters, IMO.

For sure. They are much more weight conscience as well. I lean pretty heavily on the backpacking world for ideas. If you are making your own stuff and can add the nuances one needs/like for hunting it works out well.

Seems to be the best price and quality I have found. They also seem to give just a bit more than they charge ya for.

is 900 Ct getting hard to find, if you wanted to go best quality, lighter, easier to compact, etc? Seems like some manufacturers don’t have the selection of 900 Ct bags that they used to.
