Any experiences with double pads and/or cots? My wife and child will be joining me for scouting and hunting for the foreseeable future. They'll be used for truck camping and (very) short hikes so weight isn't a huge concern. Pretty much narrowed pad options down to:
  • BA Rapide Floor Pad 4.8 R-value 2.7 lbs - Already have a 25 x 72 that we both love
  • BA Camp Comfort 9.9 R-value 6.4 lbs - I'm concerned that it may be too firm but she's a cold sleeper so the higher R-value is a plus.
Not sure where to even start with cots; we have a Cascade Mtn ultralight that we both like but they don't make a doublewide. I'm not convinced we need a cot and I'm concerned about durability and comfort. I prefer sleeping in a single cot when possible but the doubles I've seen appear more like two singles pushed together, with a bar in the center, rather than true doublewides. However, I do like having the extra storage cots allow.

Thanks in advance!

Curious why you would want to share a pad? You would get woken up every time the other person moved on a double wide air pad. And sleeping on a pad usually leads to more restless sleep for most people.
