We had a boxer that was when I was younger but I don't remember much about treatment, etc.

Sorry OP, it sucks when one of our furry friends gets cancer. Hope it all works out OK, I think the treatment has gotten better over the past few years but still very $$$.

My last lab was diagnosed at 8 years old. Super fit and healthy. Came up with a limp, thought it was ACL issue, turned out to be a tumor. Had her left rear leg removed by recommendation of my vet and several specialists. Went through numerous rounds of chemo afterwards. She lived another two years after diagnosis but eventually, like most osteosarcoma it spread to her lungs and progressed rapidly. We put her down just after her tenth birthday.

I don't know how I feel about it all now in hindsight. She was such an awesome dog and really part of our growing family. I didn't have any regrets then and still don't, but I just hope those last two years were worth it to her. She still grouse hunted with three legs so I'm thinking we did it right.

I hope it all works out for you. I'd get numerous opinions and options right away and see what fits best for you and your dog.

Unfortunately that is not a good diagnosis. Very aggressive and metastatic. By the time you get a diagnosis it has already spread. Survival times are generally short once diagnosed, even with aggressive therapy. Not sure where you are located but CSU is the best place to go if you are serious about treatment.

My lab got it at 6 years old. We didn’t do treatment and she made it 4 months until she was in pain just laying there so we put her down. Vet said they’re starting to find a link between puppy spaying and the cancer.

Sorry to hear OP.
I will say food has a huge impact on dog health.
All my inlaws dogs died fairly young from various health problems.
Since my early twenties (45 now) i have had five dogss, plus my wife has two, and they all made it to 12+ years and never had any heath concerns what so ever. They all passed from basically old age.
There are food brands touted as being healthy for dogs cause theyre grain etc but most still contain artificial caramel color.
Known Carcinogen in animals.

Sorry to hear that. I too have a saint, he's only 4. Unfortunately its not a good diagnosis. Knowing how short of a life span Saints have, I would buy yourself some time and end his/her pain before it gets too bad. Good luck!
