Does Lowa make a boot with a wider forefoot?

I seem to have a wide forefoot and a narrow heel. Been through Tibets and Cevedales. They are just too narrow across the middle of the ball of my foot. But, I love the lacing system. Best I've tried. And Tibets are the first mountain boot I've ever worn that didn't give me heel slip problems. Anybody know if Lowa makes something similar but a little wider up front?

Yes, I know I could get a Tibet pair in wide sizing, but I've never had to wear a wide shoe of any sort in my life and am nervous to do so. I don't want my feet swimming around in the boot. And I don't want the heel cup any wider.

I like the wide Tibets. I have a wide foot, heel is average. The Tibet wide fits great and I also went from Superfeet Green to the Superfeet Blue. Blue is a lower fill and helps with room in front.

Go to shoebuy or zappos or any place that has free ship/return. Try them on and see, noting lost if you get free return. Also, look for various coupons and discounts at the various sites. I did this when looking at the Asolo brand. It cost me a few bucks but well worth it as I could not get a boot to fit for me. I stuck with the Lowas.

I have a wide forefoot and narrow heel. Been wearing Tibets for the last five years and in a new pair this year. The wides are just fine but for me I generally to go up a shoe size for boots. Normally wear 11W and the first pair were 12W and were great. Could feel some toe contact with heavy downhills. Saw a deal recently on a pair of 13W and thought "what the heck". These 13W boots fit so much better!! No crazy lacing to lock in my heel. Long story to say...don't be afraid to size up TWO sizes if you've got feet like a duck. Try 1, 1.5, 2 sizes larger than your regular shoe size. Tibets have been the best boot for my funky shaped feet. And it will take a couple of weeks to get used to the extra length while hiking.

I have the EE to EEE feet. I bought the Tibets in 12W which is half size bigger than I usually wear. I have never hit my toes. I am extremely satisfied with these. They are still a little tighter than i would like with heavy socks, but I do OK.

I think I can relate a little. I picked up a pair of Cevedales a year and a half ago or whenever off of STP. I got them a half size up but when I first go them they seemed really tight as you describe them. I tried some Tibets in wide but they were just too loose. I tried a couple other boots too but they weren't what I was looking for in a lightweight hiking/mountain boot. I have some Quest 4D's but they are in a different category to me. I even measured my feet, as best I could (no "pro" boot shops around) and my feet did't really fit in the "wide" category.

So, I went back to the Cevedales that I hadn't returned yet and put some time into them. I did the soak them and walk them dry thing a couple times during the summer as well as just hiking around here in the midwest in the summer which is hot and humid enough to have me soaking them with sweat quickly enough.

Anyway, by the time it came to wear them on a caribou hunt and a muley hunt, I didn't even notice any issues with the fit. I don't know how much was actually breaking them in or how much was my feet becoming accustomed to the fit, perhaps it was just being "in the hunt" that had me not even noticing if there was slight discomfort.

You said you had been through Cevedales and Tibets. How long are you giving them?

The Tibets I had several hikes in. I was not afraid to take them out and break them in due to REIs generous return policy. The issue never improved at all. The Cevedales never left the house. My foot went in, I laced them up, took a few steps, pulled them off and they went right back in the box. With Lathrop and Sons restrictive return policy I wasn't gonna risk not being able to return $500 when I could tell I would have the same problem right out of the box.

I called Lowa's customer service. She said to get a wide Tibet. They are only 6 mm more volume with a wider foot print. That is the problem. It's not something that will stretch out or break in. My outside ball of my foot rides on the outside edge of the sole of the boot.

Interesting. I thought the whole thing that L&S sells is their custom fitting and all of that. They couldn't get it fixed for you?

Give the wides a shot and see how they work. The way you describe it, I swear I had the same issue though. Does it feel like the outside edge of your foot just behind the little toe is being squeezed or confined? I'll have to dig out my Cevedales when I get home this weekend and see how the fit feels again.

I'd wear them around for a few days. My tibets and cevedales both felt tight when I first wore them but after a couple weeks of normal everyday wear they felt fine. If after wearing them for a week or so if they don't feel any better get the tibets in wide.

I never tried the tibets, but the cevedale tech lites had a similar fit and feel to me. Lathrop recommended the Lowa TiCam in regular width, little wider forefront, but not quite a wide. Has worked out great for me, they fit more into a heavy hiker category than a packer type boot, but they are plenty stiff/supportive for me. Anything stiffer and I would feel like my feet were clubbed.

That's troubling to hear about L&S. I would think no matter what they would get you into something that fits. Was gonna order a pair from them, now I have second thoughts.

I'm sure that eventually they will. It's just that the first try didn't work.

It wasn't that the boot was feeling "tight". It's a very localized issue. Outside ball of my foot, on the bottom. Like 1-2" towards the heel from my pinky toe. Feels like the outside of my foot is riding on the outside edge of the sole. Like the footprint or sole of the boot itself is too narrow. This isn't something that is going to stretch out or break in. I had the exact same issue with the Tibets and they never got any better at all after 20+ miles.

The other reason why I'm not going to wear them around much is L&S only has a 15 day return policy. I'm traveling quite a bit the next couple weeks and I just don't have the time. That and I have an AK caribou hunt in early Sept. No time to mess around. I need new boots (hopefully the right ones) back ASAP.

I got you. Hopefully you find a good fitting boot.

I've got a wide forefoot and narrow heel as well. I own Tibets, Hunters, Clevedales and Bighorns. The BEST fitting Lowa for my foot shape is the Lowa Bighorns by far. In Tibets the regular width is a hair too narrow and the wide width is too sloppy. Same with the Clevedales. The regular Hunter fits me decent but the Bighorn fits me like it was custom made for me.
