Been reading a lot on elk hunting fitness and seems like wilderness athlete comes up a lot.

Do you use it? Which products? Do you take this with you on hunts?

I do. I use the hydrate and recovery as well as the energy and focus. I don't drink anything except water so it's a nice change of pace each day

I use the Hydrate & Recover in my Camelbak while chasing Elk through the Rockies. I also use the Altitude Adjustment, which I start several days before leaving New Orleans (below sea level) to 8000+ feet. It really makes the adjustment to higher elevations easier.

I've used their products. You could probably find an equivalent sub for everyone their of their products for cheaper if you spent some time looking around. That being said, I use the E&F in the mountains usually sometime in the Midmorning if I'm about to tackle some serious climbing. I also use it before long, sustained workouts that I do once a week. I usually just use a half serving, though. The Hydrate & Recover is fine, too. I don't end up using it daily in the mountains, though. I have used it some to sip during long workouts on extra hot days.

In the end, no supplement is going to change your life or significantly alter your fitness level. If you're going to spend your money on energy mixes etc, WA is one option that keeps some money in the general hunting community. Mtn Ops is another popular hunting specific line of similar products, but I haven't used any of their products. To be honest, I find their marketing campaign to be a little cheesy, if not repulsive in certain ways, so I don't spend any money on it.

Ain't cheap but I feel that it gives me some lift. I mix both drinks together which is what they call the superman. Tastes better than either by itself and you can mix both in a 1L nalgene so you're not filling half bottles. Individually they only make half a bottle so there's not much there. I definitely feel sharper, I'm not sure how much of it goes to my legs, but it definitely has benefit.

I will mix a superman usually before a workout if I'm working out in the a.m. and post if I workout in the p.m. I also use the Altitude Adjustment, not sure it works, but twice went to altitude to hike & hunt without any problems related to altitude so I can't say it doesn't work. I will take it before any backcountry hunt.

I have used their products in the past but it's been awhile. I really liked their drinks and energy shots but was not a big fan of their bars. They used to sell a 3 and 10 box but not sure if they do anymore.

Ive used most of it. I did the 28 day challenge 2 years ago before an elk hunt and its was the best I felt in a long time. Ive used the altitude pills, not sure how much they helped but I didn't have any issues hunting at 9000'. Since the challenge I have stayed consistent with the E&F and H&R. Its never seemed to lose its effect. I mix the two and take the pre workout pills, we call it "The Gump" cause when you workout or run you just keep going. Most recently I started doing shakes with the protein mix, the meal replacement, the green infusion, 2-3 frozen strawberries, 8-10 blueberries, half a banana, a scoop of peanut butter, with 10 or so oz of water. Seems like a lot but it all fits in a single serve blender. Keeps me full and going through the afternoon.
All of there products Ive been happy with. On top of that, about a year ago or so Mark Paulsen called me personally to thank me for using his product so much and if I ever had a problem to contact him personally. To me that went a long ways. Great product, great company.

I only buy the tubs, so that is cheaper. They also have a good military discount, so for military folks it's an even better deal. Then I buy 6-8 tubs at a time, so saves on shipping as well.

I've always said that it may all be in my head, but I'm OK with the price for that because I really do feel better when using it. That's one of the cheapest things that I'll spend money on for a hunt, so not a big deal.

I have the energy and focus. It seems to give me heart burn and is almost impossible to get to totally dissolve. I drank some late afternoon once after a 7 mile hike and had a heck of a time falling asleep that night. Not sure if the drink mix was the reason, but I sure was alert all night long.

I use hydrate and recover and energy and focus on a regular basis. Really like the lift energy and focus gives me in the mornings and afternoons. I've used the meal replacement shakes before and liked them. Used the altitude advantage in CO in 2013 and when in the past have experienced some nausea and headaches at 12k+ feet didn't have any altitude symptoms when using altitude advantage. I'll probably get it again before going high ~12k feet.

I did for a while, E & F, but I've quit doing as I just decided it was a good way to separate me from my money.
