Do coyotes see in color?

Coyotes see in the blue spectrum. That means that things like blue jeans are easy for them to see. They don't see much of the red spectrum and that is why a red light works well to hunt with when night hunting.

I read where noted author and coyote hunter Gerry Blair wore a Santa suit and killed some just to prove a point.

They see certain colors but I have always been told that to them, orange is like green, and one old timer I knows often wears an orange cap and kills lots every year.
I don’t wear it when hunting them but have shot a few from stands when wearing it.

I believe they do. Not color like we see but there are lots of studies online about their eye sight

I think they see color similar to how deer see color. So as others have already said blues stand out and orange and red look more brown to them.
