Diy Sitka style suspenders

Anybody have advice on what elastic to use for sitka style suspenders. Does not necessarily need to have the rubber grippers but would be nice. Just needs to be durable long term. Wanna make a few pair and use the g-hooks and cam buckle adjusters just like they use. Thanks in advance.

My Sitka suspenders were trashed, and I couldn’t get a replacement pair anywhere. So I found some elastic on Amazon and just used the hardware and re made them. Turned out good and have worked well the little I have used them since re building. This is the material I used.

Thanks I will check into that one. I ordered a few yards of mil-spec elastic and am gonna see how that looks when it gets here. Wont have the rubber but I can live with that I think. I just love the g hook attachment on their suspenders.

I've heard folks have used a bead of silicone caulk for that rubberized coating on their suspenders so that they don't slip

check ski shops. I have a set of clip on obermeyer’s that work great
