That is awesome. How did you get your pattern? Just by looking at pictures and drawing one up? Did you get actual measurements from somewhere?

I started by tracing my Ramline plastic stock as a point of departure. That told me where my trigger, tang, and action screws would be. I then modified that with a negative comb, parallel toe line, and near vertical grip with 1.7” reach to trigger. The relief area behind the grip I just kept removing wood until it felt natural.

I incorporated the essential design elements of the concept described by @Formidilosus. I didn’t try to make an exact copy of the actual product because this will only need to fit me. My forend is much narrower and not quite parallel (Form did say "or near parallel") because that’s what I like. My comb angle (final = -7 degrees ) is shallower because it’s hard to get a scope really low on a pic rail on these mausers and I was constrained by the shape of my blank (see first photo).

That is absolutely gorgeous! I have a soft spot for figured wood, the beauty of a woman's figure without any of the aggravation.

Waiting on Stocky's to get the molds based on all the feedback RS is giving them and Jake/Ryan to offer the Rokstok for them.

I wish I had some skill to tackle this or modify an existing tupperware stock for a model 70. Seems like it might be a while before a rokstock mold is made for a 70, if at all. And I'm thinking my 300wsm could benefit from better ergonomics. Muzzle rise and recoil suck as is even with a mcmillan sporter stock (tampered by a brake which I hate shooting with and the suppressor doesn't do much for recoil).

Mold/design for the M70 ROKStok is already under way.

This turned out great. I also appreciate how fast this went from start to finish. Really helps with my short attention span.

This was definitely a rush job but I have to confess I started this several weeks ago and caught you all up with posts when my daily schedule included some forced idle time. There are tooling marks and scratches all over the stock that I’ll photo after it’s complete to show you all the blemishes I accepted to try to keep this a 30 hour job instead of the 60 hours it would have taken to make it look a Rigby.

Most of the metal-to-wood has a .020” or so gap at the surface that I plan to fill with bedding. You should be able to see that in the photo. An inletting job where all the metal is flush with no visible gaps would have doubled the work time. That said, there’s no play whatsoever with the metal to wood contact and it will be locked in pretty darn tight after bedding.

They already got the orders? Damnit, more money I'm gonna need to spend. Just shot that gun the other day and was about to sell it, but a rokstock might change my mind.

So let’s get this thing bedded with more leftover pro-bed 2000! Hopefully that stuff has a decent shelf life. I last used this two years ago.

Mask up, dam up…

Plug holes with clay and polish the metal with wax…

Slather in some well mixed epoxy, clamp it all up, clean all the squeezings, and pray it comes back apart in the morning!

Success! After a night on top of the furnace and an hour in the freezer it came apart with a pop.

Now it’s like I’ve got an epoxy chassis with wood attached.

Now to sand down those two bosses formed beside the trigger and the radius behind the tang so those don’t become default recoil lugs…
