DIY Rifle Paint Job?

Resurrecting this old thread to share my recent project. Basically, I got a tikka t3 lite in stainless for weather protection, and because I couldn't endure wrecking walnut and blueing out in the mountains. That being said, I really don't like black stocks. Don't know why. So, I decided to paint the stock. I knew I wanted it to be green dominant, but I wanted a light touch of khaki texture. No camo job, just a color with depth.

If you notice, I also painted the rings khaki.

Had a surprisingly good time with this. I enjoy the DIY side of things, even though it's surely nowhere near a professional finish.

Is that a textured paint gmajor?

Just Kyrlon Fusion camo line. That's several thin coats of khaki, completely covered up with many thin coats of green, and then at the end I "misted" khaki and green to give it that "speckle." Finished with many thin coats of flat clear coat.

For a stainless action and barrel the Krylon works fine. Will get rub spots as it is not super tough, but just add a quick squirt when needed.

If you want to remove, acetone will take all the paint off.
