This is the first year in awhile that I haven't been chasing white critters on the opening day...been thinking of our friends who are already out there all week. Work schedules and a family visit have delayed us just a little this year, but we will still get some time in the mountains. We leave for sheep hunt #1 later this week, I can't wait!

Working night shift looking over the Brooks Range at midnight last night I couldn't help but think I heard a couple shots fired at the stroke of midnight ;)

it's going down in the mountains...love the echo of a sharp rifle crack at elevation

Few one those shoots may have been from Miss Kimber, although I was a little late waiting until 03:30. :)

Beautiful Stid! Here's mine from sometime between 12:10 am and 12:20 am on opening day...After a long hike in, we decided to do a little "scouting" before the midnight opener. Little did I know that it would be some 19 miles later before I saw the tent again! Crawled into the tent at 8:30 am after packing him back all night. Quick, but very rewarding hunt.

Don't get feet like this walking to Wally World. :) Pain fades, horns last forever.
