Directing smoke with a muzzle brake

I noticed some brakes like the CVA are not ported on top and I've read this keeps the smoke to the sides and prevents the smoke from blocking your view after the shot.
I have the anarchy brake which has holes all the way around. Has anyone plugged or tapped the topside holes to reduce the smoke in your face?

Change brakes to a tactical. Problem solved. ;)
do you have one you recommend for cva accura? I heard people had trouble with the CVA's. The Anarchy was the only other one I saw, but I didn't do a lot of looking.

are you asking about the trouble with cva brakes? I'm not sure if it was on rokslide or somewhere else
Please disregard my comments.
I saw the title, and failed to pay attention to the section this post is in-My bad.
I don't know anything in terms of what works best for a muzzleloader.

Check with a couple of the builders: Arrowhead, LR Customs, etc.
I use LR Customs T-Rex on my custom.
