Found a great a deal on a Christensen Arms MPR in 6.5PRC... The gun is my first with a muzzle brake that can be tuned (??) with 4 small screws on top of the brake. Can someone explain how I would know what an optimally tuned brake would be, also any with CA Brakes experience with steps from getting one out of box to finely tuned ?

Hope this question makes sense....Thanks!!!

I have the same gun - the ports on top are to help combat muzzle rise by allowing the gasses to escape upwards direction hence pushing the muzzle down. If you find you are getting a lot of muzzle "flip" with your 6.5 PRC you can take one or more of the set screws out to reduce it.

If you really wanted to nerd out, you could record the rifle recoiling in slow motion with different plug configurations using a gridded background. Chose the combo that minimizes muzzle movement.

Or you could be lazy like me. I'd start by pulling the rear plugs and the forward left plug and see how you like it.

Oh, I guess these plugs are inline. I was thinking they were paired like and APA brake. Disregard my comments about plugs on the "left side."

I had my 6.5 PRC Traverse the same as Axlrod. #2 and 4 out. Was the best combo for dead zero muzzle rise on that rifle.
