Hey guys, headed to Columbus to watch my daugther lift at USAW University Nationals. The event is part of the The Arnold Sports Festival. Checking to see if I can get some intel on a non-chain local restaurant for dinner. Please hit me up with any ideas and thank you in advance!

I've always been treated well at Cap City, near OSU when visiting Columbus. The Grandview/Columbus location:

Trust me, you won't finish your plate.

What kind of food do you fancy?

If you want to visit a dive bar with outstanding burgers
Thurman Cafe

If you want some German food. Save room for a cream puff
Schmidt's

The North Market is a good spot if you're undecided

As a head’s up, had Tommy’s Diner for lunch near downtown and it was fantastic. Owner is Greek and they’ve been there for 40 years. Small, classic, diner place and super busy, but food and service are fantastic. 4.7/3000

Th Barn in Gahanna, OH. Just outside Columbus. Food is amazing. A little pricey, but not terrible for what it is. Wasn't sure if you had a budget.

We had Thurman's on Saturday night, and it was right up our alley. Excellent service, drinks, and the burgers were absolutely outstanding. For the bourbon guys, they had an Elijah Craig barrel strength 133 that was phenomenal.

5 star experience for sure.

It's certainly not fine dining, but they know how to make a monster burger.
