Diesel heater suggestion

I think a 5kw heater would heat that area without a problem. Especially if you recirculated the air. 8kw are really 5kw so don’t worry about that when shopping.

Just make sure you keep a battery source between generator and heater. That way if the generator runs out of fuel or dies, you don’t toast the heater.

I’m going to give a diesel heater a try in my tent. Found this adaptor to zip into a door. Has anyone tried one?

That's cool but $42 is steep. One of these RSers should 3d print these things and sell them on Etsy. My tent has separate zippers for vertical and horizontal and only one on each axis so won't work very well.

Browsing this thread, just curious if it’s possible to go too big on these little heaters? I’d like to be able to use it for my little 2 man tent when I’m solo but also use it in our roof top tent with annex when the wife tags along.

Sounds like they run better at higher outputs which will be no issue in a RTT but a small ground tent may not require it?

You could always place it further from the tent so the hose is longer and will lose more heat before it hits the tent.

Another option to consider would be a Camco Wave heater. I use one in my 10'X10' tent and have for years with great success. I have a few videos on YouTube on using it.

I don't think this is an option. Lots of the reviews I read had issues with them and shortening the hose was the fix. Something about the back pressure of more hose. I think opening some tent vents is the way to go.

I love my Vevor heater! Works great in my insulated cargo trailer, 22’, I have 3 bunk beds in it and we slept great even when it got down to 11 degrees. Been using it for 2 years now pretty regular when the wife and I go ride atv for the weekend.

Who has knowledge of or mildly educated guesses on the best way to store these?

I'm thinking if I run it dry of fuel it might screw something up since they need to be powered down properly.

I don’t do anything special. Mines 3years old now without issues. Lives in the back of my truck all winter, then goes in the shed for a couple months.

I'm worried about the same thing since mine will only ever be used for one week every year. Thought about draining the fuel and running it for a little while in the summer with fresh fuel.
