Did Sightmark pass the eval last year and I missed?

Article below drops names and claims to have passed the eval. I did review an email yesterday regarding the Presido. The video does show a 10’ drop and then a Hawaii fire walk, but it is not the standard RS test. Could the Internet conspiracy theorist chime in.

This could interesting with the “would you buy this scope “ thread.

What names are dropped?

Quote from the article

“Perhaps the ultimate test of resilience came in the form of the Drop Test, where the Presidio withstood falls from heights of 18 to 36 inches. Even after multiple drops, the Presidio still managed to perform with exceptional accuracy without change in MOA shift. “

The do not go into detail regarding the test. However, the above quote from the article is very interesting.

I wish they would release a video of them doing the actual drop test. The price point on the scope and the fact they are mentioning drop tests has me curious about the scope.

So they dropped the scope, not the scoped rifle. One video states 10', but they failed to measurecit on the video. That does not come close to comparing to Form's test. The mud/water test on a new scope is pointless. And, as was already said tracking and shift was not in the videos, so the claim is meaningless. If sightmart wants to be ablevto actually make such claims, perhaps they should just send a couple to Form and live with the results. As for me, I'll pass.

I agree with you on the video posted, but read the article posted in the first post. A video of that the article states would actually mean something.

If you can access the Link. The video is worth a watch. IMO this is progress. People are seeing value in the testing and taking it upon themselves to try.

Base on my short time on this site I would call this a Win. Form clearly moved the needle in a positive direction. A manufacturer is stating on their site a specific model passed a 3’ drop test. Review sight marks site under specifications tab. Is this 100% conclusive and validated. Not yet, but it is better than having marketing telling me how awesome the warranty is after I blew $10K for a guided hunt only to have my Vortex lose zero during the ride out.

I did read it. It was pointless without the attached video. However, the OP pisted the video right below your response. They shoukd have had the rifle zeroed with good ammo. So it's promising at best, and needs to be repeated with a few more scopes. But as has been stated, the pendulum is shifting, which is a positive.
