Salt River range in Western Wyoming. Per Google they were extirpated from the area in the late 1800sLooks like bison, general area, state?
After washing it as good as I could I shipped it home. Weighs 14lb cleanish. Was heavier with all the dirt in it. LolThat is a really cool find. It looks heavy!
Eatmeater bookNow you need to write a book.
Perhaps old man Jenkins stock! My buddy and I joked all weekend that Jim Bridger himself dined on this bulls fleshCool. Yep, that looks like a Buffalo. I don’t know the local history, but many Wyoming ranches have had a few Buffalo over the years. It’s also close enough to Yellowstone that a park Buffalo wanting to stretch his legs and go on a walk about could have gotten there on his own. I bet the local old timers could tell you stories of old man Jenkins and the Buffalo he kept as a pet back in the 1960s.
