December Mule Deer Hunts (Arizona vs Nebraska)

Tx1836, my son and I are heading to AZ ourselves for the first time in January, planning on hunting from the 1-8. He is a senior this year so just making this an early graduation gift trip! As someone else stated getting good info with your question for us as well. Good luck to you!

NE is a great option if you can hack the temps that time of year. I’m from SD and have also thought about dropping down to get some extra meat. Also, there’s jut something fun about muzzleloaders! The north central part of NE I just across the way from where I hunt in SD. Depending on the fall many of those deer can be grouped up hitting private fields. Either way hope you have a great hunt!

I just got back from a hunt in southwest NE on public land and to me it seemed the mule deer numbers were a little down compared to previous years. However we did see more mature whitetails then we ever have. I cannot comment on the muzzleloader hunt personally but I know some buddies that have had luck in the past. Either way good luck to you and your son!!!
