For you guys looking for a barrel that do not get enough support, I have been ordering by PM for a few. Or, if you want a prefit for a different action Preferred offers.

I am gonna try something to make it easier, I set up a "single barrel" option for $470 for non threaded and $530.00 for threading. That is $50 off Preferred's list price of ($580) for a threaded barrel and a bigger discount than what they have every offered. I think they gave 5% off for Black Friday. And, our shipping is less I think.

Shameless plug for @hereinaz 6 creed prefit. These things flat out shoot, just like all the other pbb prefits. Took this cow elk at 658 yards. One shot right above the shoulder dumped her in her tracks. And a five shot group with 108 gr eldms. The low shot was all on me. I always have to pull one.

I like the idea, just was aiming at chambering I already have a pile of brass/dies for, but you’re right a 284 Win in an 18” barrel and LA bolt stop/mag would be just about the sweet spot for velocity with 162’s with a fairly mild load even… pretty compelling, let me stew on it a bit, any other takers?

19" PBB with the 162eldm I'm ~2750fps with H4350 for reference.

I mentioned it earlier but will repeat it here, if using peterson brass with the PBB reamer (unless they changed it) you will probably need a small base die. I had light clickers with my forester fullsize die, a redding small base addressed that with no changes to the load.
