Was there something of an update here?

6 Creed with 8 twist threaded barrels are still on the docket from Tikka yes. Was hoping they'd make the SHOT cut but they did not, last I heard was potentially "summer 2025".

Too long to feed from any Tikka magazine. Pretty much anything over 3.5” doesn’t feed well in a Tikka is my understanding.

Was hoping they'd end up being a 1:7.5 twist over the 1:8 if they did do a 6CM... I guess beggars can't be choosers but with a 1:8 I could've had a .243 rechambered and already been shooting 6CM. Maybe that's exactly why they'll go 1:8, they're already set up for it.

Really I just want to shoot factory 108gr ELD-M so if 1:8 can accomplish that, good enough for me.

There's no 'already set up' for a cold hammer-forged barrel. Make a mandrel, use it until it wears out, make another. I'm not sure how much (if any) of the chamber Sako includes on their mandrels.

Being as making different length actions is too much to ask I wouldn't be surprised if they'd just use the same barrels they already make for 243 with the only changes being to chamber and maybe m+ mag rather than m.

There was a comment on one of their YouTube videos that a Ace Game/Target will be availible in 6 creed by EOY. That obviously hasn't happened yet, I would expect to see some Tikka 6 CMs in 2026. No, I don't have inside info.
