Dealer trying to talk me out of a SAKO 90 WHY?

Can confirm from experience. Springfield, Smith & Wesson, Sig Sauer, Vortex, and Leupold are big ones for that.

I think the Ruger American Gen 2's are a great value for $600 but they're not in the same league as Tikka for me.

Hit and miss for a lot of people with regards to accuracy.

I guess it depends what you mean by decent. Savage themselves know their extractors and ejectors aren't great so they're having someone help them re-design them. Bolt feel is atrocious too. They tend to shoot decent for the money but aren't known for stellar reliability or feeling like a quality firearm.
Accurate assessment

I’ll be buying a Finnlight in 6.5creed and a hunter in 223 when they are available. Probably put a 22creed barrel on the Finnlight. Ready to sell off a bunch of rifles to accommodate the new sakos

I found the SAKO 90’s on sale at EO for an unbelievable price and asked my dealer about ordering one.
Note had to do this via text because he was actually closed this weekend, but his reply was you can get a better gun for less money, I know his opinion, but what say you Rocksliders?

Thats just his opinion. I wouldnt look to far into it unless he's getting pushy about it.

If you look up FFLs you'll find a surprising number local to you who don't have storefronts. You will find that they vary in what they charge. I would ask the seller who they already have on file from your area. Them already having a copy of their FFL will make it all go more smoothly.

Personally, I'm past buying rifles I haven't at least handled one of before. I would go somewhere to lay hands on the same or very similar before ordering.

One other thing on Beretta, Back in the day, I tried to order a Sako from my local dealer. He couldn't order one due to the requirement that Beretta/distributor stated he had to carry $10k in Beretta/Sako inventory. This was probably 20 years ago. He tried to sway me another way but I eventually found a Sako. Buy what you want and don't settle for someone else's recommendations.

I’ve had Remington, Ruger, Winchester, CZ, Tikka, Mauser, Sako and several custom actions. Nothing compares in a factory rifle to Sako. When I say this, I’m looking at fit, finish, feeding, extraction, accuracy and trigger.

Buy your Sako with confidence. You won’t be disappointed. It’s my favorite factory rifle. I have the Sako 75 stainless in .260.
Except for the many 75’s and 85’s that won’t eject properly. Dumbest ejector placement ever.
