Day Six - must spin?

And that’s also why you spin and adjust those outserts until they’re perfect. With said spinner...lol

Well or use a system that doesn't have a shit load of parts and pieces that you feel like came from ikea.

I like a single insert system that is stepped for the shaft. I square the end of my shaft and glue the insert. No fitting and marking components. I think it's like @Beendare said, these micro shafts are a solution looking for a problem. Or something like that. It's hot, my brain is fried. I gotta get back to work. Maybe I can make more sense later.

I don’t own a squaring tool or an arrow spinner. Never worried about squaring arrows. I haven’t seen a reason to worry with it. I only spin my arrows after I put my broadheads on. I spin them in my hand. Works great.

I can tell you this. I had Day Six cut my dozen bare shafts. When they arrived I marked silver sharpie pen on all 12. put them all on the arrow square and only 1 out of the 12 was actually square. Therefore, if when you seat your component or point/broadhead it will not sit exactly square/flush. With good form and shooting out past 60 yds you most certainly will notice this with a fixed blade broadhead.

Exactly.

Why risk it? Such an small investment to make sure you arrows are square and spin true.

Funny you say this. I think sometimes we get caught up in trying new things or what other people are using. I went back and spun my old arrows (victory RIPs with 60gr SS Shok half out) and all spun true. This insert is one piece and is so easy to install, and I really never had any issues with them and shot great out to distance. Even though I can get the Day Six to spin true, it is definitely more moving parts and makes it harder and more work to achieve the same result I got with my old setup.

I guess if your components don’t fit correctly into your arrows it might make a difference. I’ve bought pre made arrows from different places for nearly 30 years and have made my own off and on for nearly 10 years and have never seen it matter.

My components have always fit tightly, so they’re square regardless of the end of the arrow.

It's just what reburn and dkime said earlier. It's a bunch of parts with tolerances. Add up all the parts and the chances are greater for stuff to be off. I'm not saying one way is better than the other, just with more components you got more steps.

Would have loved to see you back up the claims you continue to make in the CBC with a 60 yard MER. Maybe next year.

Still open, but he is probably chasing turkeys took much to take the time.

It's ok.

Maybe someday I can learn to shoot too.

Your right its not possible to do the CBC then drive 12 hours to a different state and smack a huge turkey. Anybody that can pull that off must be a stud.

What comments did I make it that thread that you’re referring to?

What comments did I make it that thread that you’re referring to?

Geeze man I'm not going back through acres of threads. To cite specific examples. In the thread I linked you have said nothing this is just over the year watching you make comments in threads.

1) You can shoot 2" groups at 50 yards on the regular with broadheads.
2) Tuning bows is stupid and not needed. You can shoot 2" at 50 yards without tuning a bow and anyone who says you should is wasting their time its not needed.
3) Tuning arrows is stupid, nock tuning, spinning, weighing, etc. You can shoot 2" at 50 yards without tuning a bow and anyone who says you should is wasting their time its not needed.
4) You ask advice and if anyone says the above things your response is met with the response that your shoot fine. With your factory built off the shelf arrows.
5) You randomly bomb threads where someone is asking for advice and tell them all the advice they are getting is not needed and they are wasting their time.

Just saying since you seem to have it all figured out would love to see pictures of your setups and the groups you can produce at a long MER. You know like walk the walk instead of just talking the talk.

You can see me on page 4 and billy goat on page 1 or 2.

You keep chiming in saying that .001 arrows are a waste. Spinning your arrows aren't needed. You can shoot 2" @ 60 yards with your thunderheads.

Just a few are waiting to see it is all.

I posted some stuff last summer. I said I don’t own a spinner, but said that I spent the final product in my hand. Final product being after the broadhead is put on. The .001 arrows don’t offer me anything extra for my hunting situations for the added cost.

If you got something that works, keep doing it.

Pretty amusing thread.

Anybody on this site saying they shoot 2" at 50 with regularity is full of shit; doesn't matter what's on the pointy end. 15 arrows into 3" at 55 "with regularity" will get you a contract worth about $200,000.

You may need to go back and review cause you’re wrong on several of your points.

Nope I know I'm for sure not wrong. However you dont mean near enough to me to waste a bunch of time proving you said those things buy going back and re-reading months of threads.

Just saying the guys that talk the most BS are the last to actually put up their skills or lack there of. There are some nationally ranked archers on here and state champs you disagree with what they say on the regular. They just dont flaunt their skills and wins on here because when you do you will for sure have a bad day of shooting and look like a complete jackass.
