Looking to buy a pair for a November mule deer hunt in Colorado. Just curious of everyone’s favorite for hunting, hunting in cold weather. Too many different styles to choose from. Thanks

I can't remember for sure, but I think the pair I like the best is the hunter boot sock full cushion. I haven't western hunted in late season, but wear them regularly in later season whitetail sits. I have worn it in Colorado in September and its not too warm for that. My other couple pairs are just crew height though and I would want more height, so go with a boot sock whatever pair you go with.

I just warrantied a bunch of darn tough socks I bought in Vermont a few years back. They sent me a gift card for the ratail value of each pair. Truly a no questions asked warranty which is nice.

I ordered a few of the hiker boot sock cushion, and full cushion. those seem to be their flagship line and have been the focus of many articles and awards. I wouldn’t get wrapped up in the hunting line just for the namesake, I think the only difference is color.

I like the thinner hiking socks, as the thicker the cushion, the more foot movement occurs and that leads to blisters. There are a few pair of boots that fit me slightly larger, where a thicker sock is needed. I'd say, base it off of how your boot fits

Thinner for moving and thicker for sitting in cold. DT/Smartwool and some redhead wool socks are what I use every day of the year for work/play.

I like darn tough full cushion all year round. Feet sweat in any sock in most of the boots we wear for hunting, so i prefer the full cushion. Smartwool is good too, I just prefer darn tough

I run the hiker sock that benefits the Appalachian trail conservatory. Can’t remember the model but I’ve been wearing them daily/exclusively (other than running) for 7 years now. 5 pair lasted 5 years before I took advantage of the warranty. I do have one pair of full cushion that is feel are too “spongy” for active wear

If you call Darn Tough, and speak with a customer service rep, they will recommend the best sock for your use. If they don't work out, and you want to exchange them for a different style, they will give you a full refund even if you have already worn them.

Heard nothing but good things about Darn tough. Assuming the warranty is not dependent on where they are purchased? For warranty questions Darn tough is to be contacted directly?
