For making me spend more money. Just bought a Wolf Gray 14'r with 2 spotting scope pockets (and a hoodie [gotta rep...]). Plan is for a pack I can take on 1-3 night hiking trips with Doggo in-tow. I wanted something that wouldn't startle the Granola Munchers like my full RG Nomad would. 2400ci, with the ability to expand to 3,600ci, should be more than enough for most basic trips.

Anyone else run a 14'r for this purpose? How do you like it? Post pics if you got'em.

Already eyeballing an Urban Zippy for a truck bag. Shit's addicting.

P.S. Speaking of Doggo; you guys should design a pack for them as well. He'd wear one.

What would you put in your dogs pack?

Guy I go elk hunting with has been bringing his dog for the past 5 years (I think he's good luck since we've got 3 bulls and 6 cows between the two of us with the dog along). He got a dog pack from Petco in blaze orange since his dog is a bit wolfy looking and he puts 2 liters of water and his lunch in the dog's pack. Its not a lot but does reduce his pack weight by a few pounds.

Great thread on all points... Kifaru, dogs, elk-hunting dogs, elk-hunting dogs wearing Kifaru...

Have wondered how upland breeds, particularly GSPs would work during archery season.

I would also love to see a good dog pack from Kifaru. I also have a blaze orange dog pack. Last trip my dog got a pretty good rash under an arm though, probably my fault for not having it tightened or the load even enough but I don’t think iv seen a dog pack that has had an abundance of thought put into it.

I have the same set up in ranger green. Easy to load up for a short overnight, or pull off the pockets and cinch down for day stuff. Also makes a great travel pack. Looking at adding a Sherman pocket to the Kifaru collection as well. Should be a great addition to the 14'r.

I have a funny feeling you don’t so much care about what other people think (“granola munchers”) as you wanted to get something new. Understandable! And +1 for dogs packing food.
