If you go 69 again, stay on up to Sherman, take 82 west to 287, you will miss all of Dfw traffic

82 takes you through Muenster too, stop at Fischers for some sausage etc.. Hess Meats is good too.

Born and raised in Grapevine, now in Wyoming. Boy has that town changed in the last 35 years, since I left it.
