Cz 527 .17 hornet ?

They make perfect fox guns. That's 90% of what I shoot with mine. If you can stay off bone the standard 20 grain vmax work well. Just have to be conscious of it and be prepared to pass some shots. I've been reloading the 25 gr berger varmint bullets. They aren't as violent expanding at hornet speeds it seems. I only shot a few at the end of last year with them. Had some pass through but didn't have any crazy exits. The bergers also shoot really good for me
How much damage does a headshot give you with those 20g vmax

I actually much prefer the original 17 Rem for fox, cats, and coyotes. I shoot a discontinued 25gr Berger target bullet. I bought a lifetime supply when they announced they were being discontinued. They blow up inside and create quite the clean kill. Lots of times I have to hunt for the entrance hole. Had many fox I haven’t even put a stitch in the fur. If you use the 25 grain hornady hollow point it is almost as good. You’ll stich a few but by many. I run mine right at 4000.

I have since found a cz 527 .17 hornet, I found it on another forums classfields for $1250, since acquiring it I ended up bedding the lug and tang which helped tighten things up. I have shot a little over 50 fox, some racoons, coyote, and loads of groundhogs, it’s a sweet little rifle, shoots about 1/2 moa which I’m pretty pleased with ,sad that Cz no longer makes them… here are some pictures of some critters I’ve gotten with itIMG_8822.png
