Awesome write up. I'm headed to rifle build 4 in 2 years. I feel the pain. I agree with the carbon barrel stuff however my 300prc proof is an anomaly. Strings of 10 are no issues. If every barrel could be that good I would never get anything else. I'm going fluted 3b on my next though. Ive also had some really good luck out of PVA barrels.

Thanks for sharing the lessons learned. Ive always heard mixed reviews on Ti actions and it sounds like you experienced all of the negatives.

Didn’t give much detail on the build in the previous post since I was on the run. Built by @barehandlineman at High Voltage Armory

26” 1.250 proof sendero 1-8 twist
New Defiance Exodus (gun smith designed)
New McMillan stock (gun smith designed)
Bix N Andy tac sport trigger
SRS SS 4 port brake
Hawkins AICS bottom metal
Trijicon Tenmile 5-25X50 FFP MOA
Area 419 “hunt” rings. .94 height

Ran out and shot some fire formed loads today and dropped 1gr. of powder for the formed brass. Two five shot groups. If you overlay them (I tried to overlay the first group on top of the second but I’m off a little bit), it’s a 10 shot in the .6’s. Plenty good for killing animals out to a long ways.

Speeds from 5 shots from the group on the left. Forgot to put it back out when I shot the next group. But it’s pretty consistent. 180 ELDM’s and N565

Those 7mm proofs 1.250 were made for me. You wont find a 7mm 1.50 proof anywhere. Proofs shoot if you know how to work on them. I know i wont shoot steel on my personal rifles.

Thank you!! I’m by no means anti-carbon. I just thought steel was the easy button (and still kind of do think that). Since this initial write up, I’ve had a couple steels not really hammer all that well either. They all shot okay though.

This is my first carbon barrel in over 2 years and it’s looking good. So I’ve had 5 carbons now and they all shot plenty acceptable for killing animals at long range.

Like the looks of that stock. Available as a component stock or only on full builds?
Possibly available as a component stock in the future. But spoken for, for a little while, to use on the full builds that are already on the books as the new stocks arrive.

Couldn’t resist and snagged a 6.5-7PRC as well now 🙄.

After spending a few hundred rounds behind the new stock, I really like it. I have 2 of the first 3 stocks produced now hahaha.

Just waiting on response to be sponsor here before people freak out about that lol.
In the meantime, could you talk us through the design philosophy? Obviously you felt strongly about a market gap to put this much time and cash at risk. Super curious to hear your thought process.

the whole thing was just designed to be ergonomic. Ive shot behind a lot of stocks and liked certain features of them but not the whole stock. I just combined many features of my favorites. Recessing the palm, moving trigger closer, making the toe parallel with riser and foreend.
Reducing size of foreend and giving it more curve to mold in hand. Being adjustable i wanted to be able to get bore guide in it without removing riser and run cleaning rod. When riser is on lowest setting you are .200 above boreline which is where my non adjustable will be.
