Appreciate that!!Just finding this tread, fantastic write up. Your findings are very similar to mine. Apart from the carbon barrels. i know steel are less finiky, i just love the look of carbon . My cartridges have also gotten quite a bit smaller. currently using a 22 creed & 25 SST. i have a 6 PRC Primal at the gunsmith now. really looking forward to that one
Hell yeah! how are liking that 22 creed?Appreciate that!!
Yeah I’m not anti carbon really. I’ve shot several that shot good to great since making this original post. Certainly well enough to kill animals out to a long ways.
My gunsmith is actually going to produce a “flagship” style build which has a 1.250 shank proof barrel on it. So I’m having him build me one in 7-300 NMI for next season. So we’ll see! If it can’t hold 10 shots under .7, going straight back to steel lol.
Funnest cartridge I’ve shot in a while!! Having a fresh build being done as we speak!Hell yeah! how are liking that 22 creed?
I had 7mm 160 McGuires loaded with 90gr. N570 going 3450FPS. Just never found a buck worth shooting with them. They shot great and I killed a couple coyotes and a pig with them and terminal performance looked solid. What bullet do you shoot in CA?

Sure! You can shoot from low kneeling to prone with it. It has 2 lock settings. One where the feet are narrow and tall, and then you pull a corded pin, and it lets the legs sprawl out low enough to shoot prone. It takes some range time to understand the functions and how to use them quickly.Could you share a little about this bipod? I hadn't heard about it until coming across this just now. I've been considering an Gunwerks 2.0, and have been using Spartans. Would definitely appreciate your thoughts on it.
what bubble level and rings are those?Another buck with the 7-300 NMI. 180 ELDM was the bullet again. 365 yards.

Still enjoying the drop from 30 cal to fast 7mm. The deer haven’t been able to tell the difference haha. Elk hunt coming up in 11 days, and we’ll see if the 180 just bounces off a bull lol.
The rings are Unknown Munitions rings. And the level is just some $30 level from Amazon.what bubble level and rings are those?
Love those bladesMore hunting and more rifles.
Killed a good mule deer with 7-300 NMI and 180 ELDM’s. If I had to shoot one bullet for the rest of my life, it might be the 180 ELDM. Easy accuracy, high BC, modest recoil and massive wound channels.

28 Nosler with 180 ELDM’s. Buddy’s rifle, but I loaded for it. Benchmark carbon barrel shot excellent.

The gunwerks is also legit though. It's lighter but doesn't quite get you up in a seated height very well. But still a very versatile bipod. I don't like spring loaded legs though, they are super loud unless you catch them before the leg extends all the way.
