I am wondering if any of you 'slide guys make custom knifes? My dad passed away 12 years ago, and I have three small sets of mule deer antlers of his. I would really like up to 3 knifes made (for me and my siblings) using the antlers as handle material. I wouldn't care if the knives were small to accommodate the smaller antler size. If any of you guys make knifes and could help me out, or know someone good who could go it, send me a PM.

I actually found a local guy that has been doing them for a while. If he doesn't work out, I will definitely take a look at these. Thank you.

Check out Michael presnell. He isn’t the level of Menefee or Honeycutt, or the like, but he was very willing to work with me on a one off project and his prices are very reasonable. Does nice work with bone in a scagel style. Makes a nice sheath as well.

You bet.

Also huge thread I started a few years ago. Tons of makers/styles to look at.

red rock tool in South Dakota is worth a call.

Stopped there after my wife and I picked up some sheds, picked out an antler that worked well as a handle and he built it indexed just how I wanted.

His work isn’t simply glued on, metal runs to the end of the antler and is capped with bronze.

One of the few non living things in my home that’s irreplaceable.

I have pictures in the custom knife thread
