All the fast approvals have got my brain working so I'm gonna take advantage while I can. So its been about 5ish years since I've done a form 1 or 4. Last time I tried to do an e-form 1 the site was down so I mailed it in.

So for those in the know, when doing an e-form 1 or 4, do I still need to upload fingerprints and photo with my trust ? Was it all fairly straight forward or did you have to read all the instructions like 5x and still get errors?

I think it depends on how you're submitting. I recently did a new form 4 after about 2 years of my initial purchase/set up of trust. I submitted through Silencer Shop and had to submit a new photo and amendment to the trust as I had moved, but the fingerprints on record from the initial submission were sufficient.

If you're submitting straight through e-forms, I believe you do have to submit all new prints/photos/etc. I may be 100% wrong on that though.

You still need to do fingerprints and photo. I used SS kiosk and it was very straightforward. Fingerprints and pics are done via the kiosk. Pic can be done via the app. They store all your fingerprints/pictures/etc for a year so if you buy more over the year you don’t have to redo them.

One just took almost two months for me. Efiled without electronic fingerprints. The place where I buy mine at just got an electronic fingerprint scanner. He said he’s getting them back within a week.

Average form-4 trust is going 65 days. My latest was 112 days.
I did the individual and not the trust, not sure which form. it is
I didn't realize at the time that I'd have to pay again to move it to a trust. I did individual to try and get it back in time for a Sep. hunt

There are guides, both articles and videos, of how to fill out the e-form 4. Here is one from the ATF.

Silencer Shop makes this all pretty easy and I haven't had any errors or issues with mine. I've done two eform 4 trusts with them recently and the one last year took 7 months but the one this year took less than 1 month from certifying to approval. In addition to how Silencer Shop walks you through the process, their trust language is standardized and familiar to the ATF and that is helping to reduce approval times.

As a non licensee, you cannot e-form your own Form 4. Your dealer will need your passport style image and prints for submissions one way or another, depending on what ecosystem they use for NFA submissions.

I just saw this thread; Form 4 Trust back in 6 days. While we never really know what influences it, I donate $200 at a time quite often on this trust, so maybe that helps? I do Form 1 and Form 4's through Silencer Shop. Yes, it costs a bit extra for Form 1's, but the convenience is worth it for me as all the info, prints, and pic are there along with the trust.
