Which one would you pick and why for early season backpack hunting? I am looking for a shorter 7-8" boot, but something that will be great on sidehills and pack outs with a stiff shank and sole.

Let me know your thoughts.

I tried on Idaho last week . Super comfy got one on order. Although I think I will try Nevada on as well and make a decision

Awesome, were they pretty stiff and seem like they would hold up to side hulking a heavy load?

Idaho's felt a bit lighter but from everything I have researched will hold up to any terrain/weather . I called Crispi to check on stiffness compared to Nevada . One of the marketing reps told me the Idaho should be able to perform anything the Nevada can.

I just ordered the idaho's on your guys recommendation, I hope they work out! Should be about perfect for what I am looking for, other than the boot is a little taller than what I thought I wanted, but seems to have everything else going for it.

The Crispi boots that I liked were the Wyomings. Super comfy and felt like good support. I'm gonna pick up a pair this week I think.

I have personally been using and abusing my Crispi Idaho GTX boots all year and they have yet to give me the slightest hiccup. Hunted bears spot and stalk this spring in the melting snow and on trails that looked more like small rivers, yet they kept my feet bone dry. Summer backpack trips scouting for deer 6 miles in on the rockiest of trails and side hilling through scree slopes with 50 lbs of gear. They are the perfect early season-mid season boot IMHO. They have just the right amount of stiffness that gives you confidence on the nastiest terrain, without feeling like you are wearing bricks on your feet. Boots just came in. They feel great walking around the house. Light, but certainly stiff enough for some rough terrain and side hilling with a pack on. I'll post more after I put a few miles on them.

Am I reading that right, the Idaho are 1.7lbs compared to my tibets at 3.9lbs? How do these fit compared to tibets size wise?

Love my tibets but it's a heavy boot for archery season, this may be a better option!

They are light. I am still liking mine, put another couple of miles on them yesterday and so far they have been perfect. They fit true to size. I am an 11D (med width) in everything - tennis shoes, dress shoes, boots, etc, and my 11D Idaho's fit me perfect.

From Crispi web sight. Weight (one boot size 10): 1.95 pounds.
