I need a boot that is snug in the heel but has a roomy forefoot/toe area. I have narrowed my search down to Schnee's Timberline or Crispi Idaho GTX based on info that I have found. Scheels has a good deal on the Crispi for $250 so I decided to go ahead and order those. Anyone have an opinion of either of these boots? My specific needs are a good all purpose boot. I do a lot of bird hunting and other hunting that involves lots of miles of hiking in hilly mountainous terrain.

I seriously considered ordering both and keeping the one that I liked the most, but I held off on that idea for now.

No experience with the Schnees, but I love my Idahos. The factory insoles are junk and killed my feet, but once I swapped to superfeet I’ve had no issues. I’ve struggled with heel slip in other boots, but never with the Crispi’s.
