Creepy experiences in the backcountry

Hunting on Knight Island in the Prince William Sound in AK, there was a lot of black bear sign. I needed to take a dump in the middle of the night so I crawl out of the tent and do my business while franticaly scanning my surroundings with the headlamp in one hand and my bear gun in the other. That morning, right in the middle of camp was a steaming pile of bear shit.

People need to stop bumping this thread with no story. Dig deep and contribute something creepy. This is one of my favorite threads and when I see it back at the top I expect to open it and read something creepy, not another "bump" post.
When you say to stop bumping a thread and you realize you bumped the thread… you’ve just entered the twilight zone.

Indeed. I bumped a bump and entered a new dimension.

As a multi-entry creepy experiences thread poster I hopefully have some cred to do so. My creepy experience bank is almost bankrupt which is why we need people to post up their stories even if they are embarrassing.

When I was a younger man in my early twenties I had a female friend that lived in downtown Denver who was really into the paranormal. I lived about an hour away in a historical mountain mining town and she would visit often. One summer night we hatched up a plan to hike about a mile from my house (which was already haunted) and spend the night in a defunct mine that was rather well preserved and has a storied history. After hanging out and having fun for a few hours we ate dinner in the mine by candlelight and got into our sleeping bags and went to sleep. Around midnight I woke up absolutely panicked. Then I woke her and said we need to go back to my place right now. I can't explain it but I was thoroughly freaked out. Ironically I think she would have been just fine had I not had this panic attack. I was definitely the pussy who bailed.
