CRAZY GOOD SAUER 100 SALE! - EUROOPTIC - AS LOW AS $499.99

Maybe I missed it, how did this rifle group with the factory stock?
Never shot it with factory stock. I'm gonna try some different ammo before I give up. I also cleaned it and scrubbed the barrel after this. Maybe it just needs to be broke in?? I'm used to my Rugers shooting lights out right out of the box.

The 140 grain tipped Federal fusions loaded very hard. Sometimes the bolt wouldn't even close. I found that odd.

Check your extractor. If it's too floppy you can have a case rim hang up on the flat spot and the bolt won't close.

I would shoot a few high quality bullets through it to see how it acts. Something like a 140 ELD-M, 130 TMK, 135 Berger, 130 Scirocco, etc.

It might just be a lemon but I wouldn't expect very many rifles to print ragged holes with bottom shelf soft point bullets anyway so it's worth checking.

Finally got out to shoot this gun in 6.5 creed.140 fusion and 129 hornady were terrible. The only thing that was meh was HSM 140 game changers. Some of the federal fusions wouldn't load. Bolt wouldn't close on them. Think i'm gonna send this sucker down the road.
I have the Mauser M18, which is a corporate twin to Sauer 100 series. I recommend you send it back to Blazer (who handles warranty for both). My rear post came loose and I thought about fixing it, but decided hunt season was over, and it’s in warranty, so let them correct the issue. My experience was excellent.

Besides fixing the issue, they gave the rifle a good once over and fixed a couple other issues I didn’t even know I had. Took about 3-4 weeks. Shipping was covered both ways, you just need a good box. They told me they won’t be doing low end rifles for USA market anymore and once these sell through, that’s it. Owners are covered for at least 10 years from purchase date.

My 30-06 is easily the most accurate rifle I’ve ever owned. I am 1 MOA at 200 yds. (100 yd zero was getting too boring.) True across several different loads, Nosler ETIP 180 seemed to group best, then Hornady CX180, 165. Federal was more like 1.5 MOA. I am mostly focusing on copper rounds from these manufacturers.

Even with the loose rear post, it was still bedded well enough my buddy took an elk at 400 yds with it.

Different ammo? Barrel cleaning? Barrel break-in?

I have experience now with three different 100s. One is mine and two are my friends'. Same can be said for all of them:
-They shoot most ammo reasonably well although heavy bullets 140+ the groups will open up some (we're at sea level).
-There's been no cleaning or barrel break-in at all and they have shot consistently from the very first shot (I'm at 1500+ rounds now).
-The extractor sucks.
-The factory stock is great (exceptional considering it's tupperware).

If it were me, I would re-install the factory stock (torqued correctly) and see how that goes.

Appreciate the advice. I'm gonna pick up a couple more boxes and give it another try here soon.

Sucks to hear about the heavier bullets not shooting well. I'm hoping to use those new Federals this fall.

The rifle twist is 1:8.7 rather than 1:8.

I was going to buy one toddy until I noticed that. I want to shoot the heavy bullets Federal is going to load.

I contacted Blaser Group this week asking this very question about twist. I was told the 6.5 Creedmoor is in fact a 1:8 twist.

Their exact response:

Hello – S100 in 6.5CM = 1-8
