CPW Director Jeff Davis resigns

Another death blow to Colorado sportsman.
Still some RS members (none have responded on this thread yet) from Colorado come on here and say how Colorado is still wonderful and their hunting and ranching opportunities are not compromised. I think this group of RS Coloradans are a bunch of liberal woke democrats and will continue to support the woke Polis regime even if it affects the hunting opportunities in Colorado. They would rather be a woke democrat than a outdoorsman. You can read some of this group’s comments on the thread Colorado Going Going Gone.
I wouldn’t take silence as being woke, myself and others probably just don’t see the value of getting on here to complain about general politics of our state. We did rally with the help of Rokslide to shoot down the lion ban but not all aspects can be won on a hunting forum. Anyway I’m taking a democrat hunting for the first time next year, building some common ground can go along way.

Where are people seeing her anti gun / anti hunting positions? I can’t find any info on her outside her military service. Which raises the question, how she is remotely qualified for this position..
Unfortunately, in most, if not all levels of government, being truly qualified is way down on the list of priorities when promoting/appointing occurs...

You are not likely to find anything public on her political positions as she spent the last few decades in the National Guard, retired in OCT. I have heard word of mouth that she is hardcore animal rights and gun control but nothing verifiable….. yet. I guess we will find out. I believe she worked in HR/personnel for USFWS as her full time job. I assume they are basing her qualifications on that.

I believe there is a difference between complaining about general politics in Colorado and informing fellow hunters about appointments regarding Colorado Parks and Wildlife that could threaten the future of hunting and wildlife management. My intention with the OP was not to call out “woke” Roksliders.

Engaging with non-hunters and bringing in new hunters will be critical to the survival of hunting in Colorado. I commend you on that, I challenge myself to do more. I intentionally share wild game meat and meals with non-hunting colleagues and neighbors while communicating the importance of hunting to wildlife management, food security, and ecosystem balance.

Agree. Venting is important as is being informative. Just very tired of it all happening. Honestly I don’t normally open these threads unless someone reported something, living in it everyday I come here to escape.

@MtnW I’m just exhausted from the ongoing political climate here, sorry if I came off dismissive to you. I know a lot of residents are trying on direct personal interactions even if we seem absent online.

Tony,
Thank you, no problem on my end.
I just have issues with some on here that want to call themselves big game hunters/conservationists and enjoy the hunting culture, but when they go to vote they chose to side with the ultra liberal Polis wokes and the anti hunting Colorado Democratic Party who wants to destroy our lifestyles . How can they be that naive? It is so obvious that these woke liberal types have eroded much of what once was a stellar Wildlife Dept and one of the greatest hunting culture states in the west. Ignoring them adds power to their positions. They need to be called out for what they are and fought head on.
