2nd and 3rd choices likely to become a major player in getting GARBAGE tags.
FIFY.
Very few "good" tags make it to second choice.....
Good tags ALWAYS sell out in the first round.

That 50/50 split is going to be interesting for sure. Depending on how many guys take the chance in the random pool you could actually see odds get better in some unit
I have 4 kids so selfishly I’m glad the youth leftover stayed the same.
Agree, 7-10 years ago plenty of good, second choice, these days… ehhh not so much. Scraping the bottom of the barrel if they even make it thereFIFY.

I dont think that's how it works you apply for a tag 50 percent go to the highest point holders then the other go to to a bonus point draw with everyone who applied in the draw unless I am mistaken you don't choose one or the other. That 50/50 split is going to be interesting for sure. Depending on how many guys take the chance in the random pool you could actually see odds get better in some units, but I’m a glass full kind of guy…

I didn’t mention “good”. Guys will have the option to take a shot at units with their first choice they never had a chance at before. Will likely be a very low odds random draw meaning many won’t draw. Making their 2nd and 3rd choices important decisions if they want to hunt.FIFY.

Both of which suck almost as bad as random draws…Bonus point systems suck as much as preference point systems
Absolutely true. I think it’s lots on people who really started hunting Co 2018 forward… post social media/ covid boom time. I will say I lack much faith that archery draw for NR will be anything but a formality with they will issue several thousand tags per unit… as everyone here knows Co is addicted to that dollarThe good news is that with OTC going to draw for NR I think the hunting should get much better and I think you will see a lot of "Meh" units become "Good units" depending on how things shake out with the tag allocation.
There are several flattop units that I would like to see go back to the pressure they saw during archery in the early 2000's. There were a few places that were Narnia for a tag you could buy at Wal-mart.....Know that.
Random with no points would have been the best option....points are just scheme for states to make more money while selling hunters the idea of better odds if you keep buy points....Both of which suck almost as bad as random draws…
Now all Colorado needs to do make every nr tag a draw and they will be headed in a good direction
On that we agree!!Now all colorado needs to do make every nr tag a draw and they will be headed in a good direction
Please explain what this means. I've read the PowerPoint but this doesn't make sense to me. Thanks!
