Coyote brown, foliage green or ranger green

which color would you pick for a pack/gear that will be used both urban and backcountry? I go back and forth between the two and looking for others input. thanks!

For me, I like the coyote. Yes, it has a bit more of a "tactical" vibe, but I still think it looks better than foliage. But then again, I think everything looks better than foliage. Personal preference, I guess. Just depends which color you'd rather look at

I'm also for CB. I'm not a real tactical guy, so I don't "see" tactical, I see it as a hunting color and it goes with most any camo.

Coyote brown works great in the field. Whenever I see someone with a coyote colored pack in town I immediately assume they are prior or current military. May not be what you want if you are trying to not stand out as a service member. I have a tremendous amount of gear in Coyote from my time in the Marines and I only use it in the field. Id like to get a kifaru rig in ranger green down the road for hunting. Just a sexy looking color, much better than foliage. Which pack has your eye by the way?

Coyote Brown goes with everything. I like to match my camo to my boots and a CB pack really accentuates my brown eyes. Seriously though, CB really does go with everything.

Brown.

I listened to a Hunt Backcountry Podcast with a guy from Veil Camo who designed the Fusion camo pattern and other for military applications.

He said all deer species are red-green color blind so greens aren't necessary in camo. also he said grey is one of the worst colors because it is more reflective of blueish sky tones and that many of the more grey-green colors are not good. I would put Foliage Green into that grey-green category.

It's been awhile since I listened to it but my take away was that I will be trying to buy and wear more brown or tan solids rather than green or grey solids.

Thanks all for the replies so far. Let's open it up to Coyote, foliage green and ranger green. I already have a Kifaru CB frame and CB mountain warrior. I'm looking for a smaller, EDC pack that can pull double duty hiking/camping/scouting/hunting as well as urban use. So the color scheme I'm looking for is one that works decently well in both urban/backcountry usage. I know the animals don't care but as far as people go, I prefer to go lower profile with more muted earth tones. Just looking to see what people think for a dual usage color. Thanks all!

any of these colors would be fine. I live in NYC and have used coyote and fg (not rg...yet), and, provided it's not camo, what seems to matter most is not color but the style of the pack itself. My old cb express raised more than a few eyebrows--one student described it as the most intimidating bag he had ever seen. Now I use an X-ray, but in black--completely useless for hunting but perfectly nondescript. But if I were only to have a single pack, my sense is that rg has a kind of old world rustic charm that makes it perfect for urban environments.

Need more information. Like what color are your shoes, belt, watch, etc.

LOL!! i snorted.

and it's all about the eye color..foiliage brings out the brown of my eyes. it's counterintuitive. you would think coyote would.
