Curious if anybody else would like a coues whitetail hunting forum. They are completely different deer from regular whitetail and I think it would be cool to see their own thread.

Wait, you mean there are other deer besides Coues![]()
I thought about that but they aren’t the same species of deer, idk. Southwest whitetails?Maybe western whitetails? There are whitetail deer in western states besides coues in NM, AZ and Sonora
Coues whitetail hunters already have a pretty active dedicated forum over at coueswhitetail.com, but I do think having a dedicated Coues thread here on Rokslide could be really valuable and cut down on some of the back-and-forth.
Haha I used to be more active on there when I lived in AZ and routinely hunted coues but if anything, I’m pretty sure the dumpster fires have only gotten worse.I haven’t been on there in ages but it used to be a bit of a dumpster fire for some things.
Damn, high infidelity to the Pacific Ghosts lolI thought about that but they aren’t the same species of deer, idk. Southwest whitetails?
There's already an entire site...

I am, not sure about the other guy you quoted. You like hunting coues more than Blacktails? You talkin about black-tails?
Personally Id rather not see further forum splits, I think it would be a real shame to lose the variety of hunting techniques and habitats across the species range. I mean…there’s Rocky Mtn, Roosevelt and Thule elk subspecies and they get hunted in everything from rainforest jungle to high desert sage flats…but only one elk forum. I dont really see whitetails being any different. There is just as much difference between the stereotypical midwest managed whitetail hunting, versus foot hunting a million+-acre Wilderness in northern new england, versus palmetto jungles in florida, vs thorny scrub in south texas, as there is between hunting river bottoms in idaho or south dakota versus coues deer in arizona. If there is any lack of coues deer posts or “community” around that its only for lack of posting by folks who are so inclined. Ive never hunted coues deer but love the terrain and places they live, and I very much look forward to coues posts here and would love to hunt them someday. Not sure what is stopping anyone from posting or looking into coues deer here at the moment?
There's already a pile of coues posts in the whitetail forum:
