Cost to ship Euro mounts from Africa

Looking for general estimates from those who have experience. Possible euro mounts would include Nyala, Eland, Kudu and/or Bushbuck. Hunting in Zimbabwe and shipped to SouthEast US.

Seems like I paid about $2500 plus agent fees to get about 5 euros in a small crate from SA to Montana 4 years ago.

2500 seems reasonable, including fees on this end. It's based on the outer dimensions of the crate, so the tighter they pack in the cheaper it will be.

I went on a hunt 18 months ago, should be getting a shipping quote soon. I’m fully prepared to leave my stuff in Africa if the quotes come in as high as some of these. I’ve got photos, that’s good enough

I just received a shipment of a euro cape buff, gemsbok, and zebra rug. Shipping was $1500, broker fees/clearance/shipping to my house was $2100 for a total of $3600.

It's getting to the point where I may skip taxidermy on my next trip. Costs keep climbing and I'd rather put those funds towards another trip.

Got my taxi/shipping bill last week. SA to Seattle. 4 euros and shipping total $2950.
Blesbuk waterbuck springbok impala.
I’m declining. That’s about half of my total safari including airfare.

We just got our pricing back. My crate has 4 shoulder mounts, one skull mount, one zebra rug and 4 flat skins. Air freight from RSA to Atlanta is running me around $2400 plus coppersmith fees on this side. It looks like my freight and receiving costs are going to match my actual taxidermy costs. We have 7 crates for our group, and not sure if that helps, hurts or makes no difference regarding the air freight. Suprisingly, sea cargo was not much of a savings once we included the logistics of getting the crates from Tx to SC. I’ll probably do it differently next time.

I'll answer for him....no way that includes tax fees too.

I stopped bringing back stuff a few trips or so ago. We just don't do much with it. My daughter shot a 59" Kudu last summer. I told her we could bring it back if she was commited to do something with it. She thought about it a few days and said the picutre was good enough.

Leaving in May for a muilti buff hunt. Pics only. Next hunt after that is two years out for Trophy Ele again. I'll have a real hard time leaving those there so I assume they will come home. My wife has a set of tusks she really likes on display in her house and I have one set I like a lot in my mancave/shop.

Shipping, broker fees, storage, blah blah blah has just gotten out of control.

Who are you hunting ele with? I'm a few years out from that type of adventure but would love to pursue one in Zim.
